Sustain Belgrave is a new arts-led environmental initiative aimed at catalysing local business and community support, activating public spaces, and driving action across a wide range of sustainability initiatives in the Belgrave township. For all the damage that COVID has caused, it has also provided a springboard and the spark to re-examine and reshape the way businesses, ‘do business,’ the role the arts play in meeting and matching the creative needs of its community and how that community participates in recovering and renewing its own identity and culture after a period of instability. This project arises in response to learnings from the past 24 months, offering an important and hopefully, compelling way forward.
