A 5D Bush Christmas

A new kind of magic swept through the Dandenong Ranges last Christmas. In Belgrave, at the ‘end of the line’, a crazy new tale was born. A unique, 5D Christmas story, with Aussie critters, hosting a street party that buzzed and bounced to a new jingle. 

In what was an Aussie first. Belgrave stepped out as the only Augmented Reality township in Australia. Revellers of all ages were invited to open their eyes, follow their noses and awaken their senses. Think Pokemon Go, meets Possum Magic, meets Santa himself!

At the edge of the forest, Hidden Stories brought to life a multi-dimensional journey that conjured to it, an enchanting cast of distinctly Australian wildlife, transforming the main street, arcades and laneways into a riot of ‘animated’ celebration and tomfoolery. 

In 2019, Belgrave took a deliberate step toward a more sustainable future. Going green, this year meant going digital. Hidden Stories in Belgrave opened our eyes to a new way of seeing and being.
